TROJ_PIDIEF.WIA is a malicious Trojan which gains entry to the system after arriving as an email attachment in mass-mailed email messages. TROJ_PIDIEF.WIA can also be downloaded unknowingly by a user when visiting malicious websites. TROJ_PIDIEF.WIA takes advantage of a vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader to drop and execute a malicious file. The file is detected as BKDR_POISON.UC. As a result, malicious routines of the dropped backdoor are also exhibited on the affected system. TROJ_PIDIEF.WIA poses a threat PC security and should be removed immediately once detected.
