Trojan.Dozer

Posted: July 13, 2009

Trojan.Dozer is a trojan virus that arrives in a spam email as an attachment, entering a computer as a pxdrv.nls file. Once active, Trojan.Dozer connects to specific IP addresses and opens a backdoor to allow a remote attacker access to your system, where they are capable of performing all manner of malicious actions. Besides the usual downloading of additional malware, Trojan.Dozer may also lead to the distribution of denial of service (DDoS) attacks. If that were not enough, Trojan.Dozer attempts to replace the master boot record and searches for files with certain extensions, in order to delete the files it cannot open or that are zero bytes in size.
