W32.Relnek.A

W32.Relnek.A is a computer worm that usually spreads on local and network shared drives. As many similar worms before it, W32.Relnek.A is designed to cause at least a moderate amount of damage to the network. However, W32.Relnek.A may also infect various executable files. This can lead to system crashes.

W32.Relnek.A then searches mapped and removable drives for executable files to corrupt. While attempting to infect files, W32.Relnek.A may crash the compromised computer. The compromised computer then displays the following Microsoft Send Error Report message:

"Title: Foobar
Body: Foobar has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about the problem.
We have created an error report that you can send to us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.
