XP Virus Protection

Posted: February 18, 2009

XP Virus Protection, also known as XPVirusProtection, XP VirusProtection or XPVirus Protection, is a rogue anti-spyware program often installed by Trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, in your computer system. The Trojans that install XP Virus Protection may enter your system through a fake Video ActiveX codec download. Once installed, you'll receive a large amount of popups and fake alerts stating that your computer system is flooded with malware. In order to remove these imaginary threats, you'll be lured to purchase XP Virus Protection's full version from a fraudulent website that sells XP Virus Protection as a legitimate software.

Zlob Trojan may also hijack your browser and slow down system's performance. XP Virus Protection may have been designed by the same creators of Total Virus Protection.
