AbsoluteConverter

AbsoluteConverter is identified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), which might not cause major problems on its own, but its installer might often be bundled with 3rd-party applications, which are not trustworthy. Another issue with AbsoluteConverter is that it does not provide a unique service when it comes to file conversion – it simply takes advantage of a free-to-use online file converter, which you can access without using AbsoluteConverter or other 3rd-party software.

The AbsoluteConverter might be bundled with all application types, but so far security researchers have identified at least one problematic software that the AbsoluteConverter software bundle is known to bring. It goes by the name ‘AppMaster.exe,’ and this generic name is likely used to mislead users into thinking that this is a legitimate and important process.

The ‘AppMaster.exe’ process appears to establish background connections to remote servers, and it might use them to fetch advertisements, which may be delivered to the user’s Web browser. You should stay away from the AbsoluteConverter utility since it does not introduce irreplaceable features and, in addition to this, it also might add adware to your computer. The recommended removal method is to use a trustworthy cyber security application.
