Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

LyricsSpeaker offers lyrics-based Web-browsing features for assisting with music video sing-a-longs, but also makes other changes to your browser: ones that are intended to load third party advertisements. Since malware researchers consider adware to be a needless security risk, LyricsSpeaker normally should be considered a program to be removed as soon as possible. While you may find some use for LyricsSpeaker's marketed functionality, its ability to subject your PC to phishing attacks and a range of different threats makes it unwise to keep as a permanent fixture of your Web browser.
LyricsSpeaker: The Add-on that Speaks for Advertisers
LyricsSpeaker is an adware product that resides in an oft-overused niche: that of the lyrics add-on. Although LyricsSpeaker does include features that may improve your experiences with streaming music videos, these features usually may be found in any other applications, or in some cases, in the website, itself, without needing to experience LyricsSpeaker's down sides. As for its drawbacks, LyricsSpeaker also attempts to generate revenue for its developers by loading advertisements into your browser. These advertisements can't be disabled, may ignore your advertisement-blocking settings and are likely to harm your browser's performance (such as by increasing the time it takes to load a site).
These typical adware modifications may endanger your browser, your overall PC or even your personal information through common advertisement-based attacks and PC threats. Some of the most noteworthy of these, as noted by malware experts, consist of:
- Fake contests, surveys or other excuses for gathering your confidential information. This information may be stolen in phishing attacks and used for fraud. On the other hand, you may 'only' be signed up for a premium service (a particularly common fate for mobile phone users).
- Fraudulent system warnings and scans which, besides misleading you about your PC's health, also may attempt to install fraudulent system cleaners or security products.
- Non-consensual attacks that exploit software vulnerabilities for installing threats onto your PC.
Closing the Gaping Mouth of the Add-on without Anything Good to Say
LyricsSpeaker advertisements aren't guaranteed to be unsafe – which is why malware experts have rated LyricsSpeaker as a PUP, instead of as a threat. Even so, most adware programs result in security compromises sooner or later; minimizing your exposure to non-beneficial third party advertisements is a smart baseline for your Web-browsing environment. Deleting LyricsSpeaker, like other adware, can be assured most simply by using an anti-adware or anti-malware program that has a history of success against similar PC threats.
Because LyricsSpeaker's distribution methods have yet to come to light, defending your browser from an unwanted LyricsSpeaker installer requires general anti-adware tactics. Software sites with histories for adware distribution, naturally, may be avoided, but you also may want to consider scanning files before launching them. Reading terms of use agreements and privacy policies also can provide some clues as to the true nature of adware programs like LyricsSpeaker.
