AnarchyGrabber

The AnarchyGrabber malware is a threat, which has been threatening Discord users worldwide for the past few months. Recently, the malware was updated with several new features that make it more difficult to detect and remove – these updates also expanded the threat's features, so that it will provide the attacker with access to more information. Regardless of the ongoing updates, the AnarchyGrabber malware can still be stopped by using a trustworthy and up-to-date anti-malware software suite.

While the original AnarchyGrabber operated thanks to a corrupted executable, the latest variant is able to continue its operations even if the threat is removed. This can happen because AnarchyGrabber is now able to modify the files of the Discord installation and inject its corrupted JavaScript code in the original files. This way, even if AnarchyGrabber's files are eradicated, the Discord installation will still be infected – the best solution is to remove Discord entirely, and perform a clean installation.

Discord clients infected with the AnarchyGrabber malware will collect the token of every user that logs in, and then post it on a Discord server set up by the attacker. This credential harvesting can be very threatening since the anonymous attacker may use the victim's account for schemes or for accessing files and conversations that could be used for blackmailing.
