Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

AVBoost has a misleading name, which may trick some users into thinking that this application is meant to enhance their computer's security software and anti-virus products. However, AVBoost's purpose appears to be entirely different – it displays a simple window that allows users to control the volume and brightness of their screens, as well as to turn off or on the WiFI, and take screenshots of the screen with the press of a single button. All these features are already present in modern Windows operating systems so that most users would probably find AVBoost's features to be rather useless. However, there might be some users who will be tempted to utilize AVBoost's features. However, we'd like to warn these users that AVBoost is classified as adware, and its installation may bring additional executable files to the computer silently. Unfortunately, these files are not part of the main application, and their purpose is entirely different – to inject ads in active Web browser windows.
The AVBoost software is identified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) so that reputable and up-to-date anti-virus software will detect and remove the files linked to it. The presence of AVBoost ads in your Web browser is guaranteed to be an unpleasant experience because its ads will not take into consideration the layout you are browsing currently, and they might often end up covering important sections of the page. In addition to the regular banners and in-text ads, the AVBoost ads also may include pop-ups and unexpected redirects, which can be very annoying. Not only are they annoying, but they may promote fake software and services, which may be linked to online tactics.
The removal of AVBoost and the ads that accompany it should be your top priority if you suspect that this program is on your computer. Due to the self-preservation techniques AVBoost uses, it is recommended to remove it with the help of an anti-malware scanner.
