Baldr

Baldr is a malicious application that may have a primary objective of stealing data on infected computers and then use that data to send to remote hackers where it may be sold off to the highest bidder. The Baldr malware may be leveraged by crafty hackers who look to gather data from compromised systems in an effort to sell bundles of data on the Dark Web.

The actions of Baldr may trick people into downloading the malicious files that load the malware. Such cases may be instances where bogus pop-up messages appear on hacked websites or sites specifically designed to spread malware.

The proactive steps to prevent infection from Baldr may not be enough to ward off infection in cases of gullible computer users clicking on a malicious link and inadvertently installing Baldr. Either way, Baldr should be detected and safely eliminated by using an updated antimalware resource.
