Bestbettin.xyz is a misleading website that tries to trick people into subscribing to its push-notification services. The goal is to then start displaying sponsored advertisements on the affected device's screen directly, generating revenue for its creators in the process. The number of websites dedicated to the propagation of this tactic grows daily and they all operate in the same way.

When users land on Bestbettin.xyz, they are shown the various fake error or alert messages that all have the same end goal - convincing the user to click the 'Allow' button. Numerous social-engineering tactics can be employed by these dubious websites. Some pretend to be conducting a captcha check for bots, others show an image of a buffering video relying on people's curiosity to take the better of them. In Bestbettin.xyz' case, however, visitors are shown an image of an iPhone X accompanied with the following message:

'You won a new iPhone X
Click Allow to confirm'

If you think that getting a free iPhone from a random website on the Internet sounds a bit suspicious, well, you are right. Clicking 'Allow' will only serve to grant the faker website all of the permissions it requires to start performing its agenda. Bestbettin.xyz may deliver advertisements redirecting to similar websites or ones that push Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) disguised as software updates.

To stop the unsolicited advertisements from interfering with the normal use of the affected device, just navigate to the 'Settings' menu of the browser, find the 'Permissions' tab, and locate Bestbettin.xyz. Then remove all permissions that have been granted to it.
