Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

BestDiscountApp is an adware program that modifies Web pages to load advertisements in addition to their normal content. BestDiscountApp advertisements are not necessarily threatening to your PC but do represent an unnecessary security risk. Malware researchers also took note of BestDiscountApp's questionable business history, which includes occasional incidents of nonconsensual installations. Without any concrete reasons for doing otherwise, you always should consider uninstalling BestDiscountApp with a dependable anti-adware product.
The Discounts Indistinguishable from Advertisements
BestDiscountApp is described in the form of a shopping discount tool by its website marketing, providing otherwise difficult to obtain prices and special offers. However, BestDiscountApp's functions also fulfill the standard purposes of adware, by forcing its users into contact with announcements that may or may not be to their benefit. Malware researchers have seen BestDiscountApp advertisements occupying multiple formats, which may include:
- Interstitial or transitional advertisements that redirect your browser to a BestDiscountApp advertisement prior to allowing an unrelated site to finish loading.
- BestDiscountApp also may inject banners, product offer thumbnails and other advertisements into Web pages while you view them. These advertisements may obscure the Web page's native content or unintentionally hinder your interactions with the site (such as by blocking a menu).
- BestDiscountApp also may include support for text-based advertisements, which frequently use the formats of keyword offers injected into the text of unaffiliated sites.
BestDiscountApp advertisements often are labeled as being delivered by the BestDiscountApp add-on, allowing PC users who haven't installed BestDiscountApp intentionally to identify BestDiscountApp relatively quickly. Most major browsers are modifiable by current versions of BestDiscountApp, including the top Windows browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Chrome.
The Best Way out of a BestDiscountApp Problem
Even though malware researchers have tracked BestDiscountApp's various installations throughout 2014 (and expected to continue into 2015), the majority of BestDiscountApp installations appear to be nonconsensual. Investigations into BestDiscountApp's alternative distribution channels remain works in progress, although malware experts often find that poor file-downloading habits are the root of adware problems.
Suspicious, downloaded files should be scanned by anti-adware utilities, to identify a BestDiscountApp installer before BestDiscountApp can launch itself. In other cases, fraudulent software updates, concealed download scripts served by compromised sites and even previous infections by Trojan downloaders sometimes are blamable for BestDiscountApp's presence.
If they're accessible, you should use qualified PC security tools for deleting BestDiscountApp. BestDiscountApp has a history wealthy in incidents of its blocking manual deletion methods, which, if attempted, could fail to delete BestDiscountApp's advertisements. However, they still may remove the interface that lets the PC's owners identify BestDiscountApp. Until you've removed BestDiscountApp, all contact with its advertisements and affiliate offers should be taken with a high degree of self-awareness to other, potential attacks that could occur, with or without BestDiscountApp's approval.
