Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Adware developers are becoming more and more cunning in their methods to convince users to authorize the installation of an application that will add more advertisements to their Web browser. This is exactly the case with BlockAdsPro, a piece of software whose name suggests that it is supposed to prevent websites from displaying their ads, and therefore making the user's Web browsing experience even more enjoyable. It seems like BlockAdsPro does not have an official website, and its authors are attempting to spread it via software bundling – a popular method to distribute browser hijackers, adware, and other low-quality software.
Users may sometimes accept to install BlockAdsPro knowingly, but there are also scenarios in which users rush through the installation process and end up agreeing to install BlockAdsPro or similar software accidentally. When this program is installed, it will not create any visible shortcuts or executable files and, instead, it will drop its files in a randomly named folder, which is stored in the hidden %APPDATA% folder. This way BlockAdsPro ensures that it will be difficult for the user to find and uninstall it manually, therefore making its removal a task that can only be carried out with the help of a credible security tool.
The advertisements BlockAdsPro inserts may contain any content, but usually, the ads of this sort end up promoting dubious products and services, as well as affiliate links, which might lead users to both reputable and not so reputable online markets. Our advice is not to trust ads which you suspect are connected to adware, since the developers of applications like BlockAdsPro may not filter the content of the advertisements they display. This means that it is also possible to encounter fraudulent pages or corrupted sites being promoted by the BlockAdsPro's marketing content. The removal of BlockAdsPro is a task that should be carried out with the use of an up-to-date anti-malware tool, which can ensure the full removal of this adware's components.
