Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Blockandsurf is adware that claims to provide benefits to your PC, when its primary functions merely are to deliver new advertisements through your Web browser. Although Blockandsurf's features aren't risky enough to call for its classification as a threat, malware researchers may find adware like Blockandsurf connected to various Web-browsing security problems, including fake software updates and other hoaxes. You are entitled to make your individual value judgments about Blockandsurf's worth, but using anti-adware software to remove Blockandsurf is encouraged as the safest choice for your Web browser.
The Adware that Gives More Problems Than It Blocks
Adware programs may claim to have other features besides advertisements that could be helpful to your browser, such as blocking third-party Web content. Blockandsurf, along with BlockUTubeAde, TUbeItAdBlockApp and other advertising software, is just such an add-on. However, as of the latest analyses, malware researchers have found Blockandsurf's content-blocking features to be nonfunctional, while its other 'features' for displaying advertisements are entirely intact. The immediate drawbacks of installing Blockandsurf may be somewhat obvious, but Blockandsurf's advertisements also may cause less than obvious problems in the following ways:
- Advertisements from Blockandsurf display automatically and cannot be disabled through your browser's settings. This risks exposing your browser to phishing attacks that collect classified information through fraud, or even scripted attacks that could install threats automatically.
- Blockandsurf advertisements may harm your browser's by increasing Web page loading times, causing stuttering or interfering with streaming content incidentally.
- Since Blockandsurf's advertisements are injected automatically, they may rearrange Web pages in ways that prevent you from accessing toolbars, buttons or other website interfaces that are needed for navigating through online content.
Even though all of these problems may be typical for most types of adware, they're no more beneficial to your PC than they were when seen countless iterations ago.
Surfing Your Way out of Blockandsurf Advertisements
Even if Blockandsurf is not categorized as a threat and lacks any functions meant to harm you or your system deliberately, Blockandsurf is both an inconvenience to your browser and a potential danger to the rest of your computer. Malware researchers find that there's little to gain from allowing adware like Blockandsurf to display advertisements automatically, and deleting Blockandsurf always should be attempted as soon as possible after Blockandsurf is noticed. Rather than trying to avoid Blockandsurf's advertisements, you should remove Blockandsurf, and the advertisements caused by Blockandsurf, with PC security products known for being able to handle adware and other Potentially Unwanted Programs, such as unwanted toolbars and browser hijackers.
The use of advertisements online is a double-edged one; although there lies potential in them for enormous profits, malware researchers and others often observe that they may coincide with significant security risks. To decide if the advertisements of any given add-on are or not trustworthy, examine its history, its distribution methods and, if necessary, trust in the scans of dependable brands of anti-malware tools that can uproot Blockandsurf and related troubles before they have an opportunity to create new issues.
