This browser add-on is advertised as a tool that will enhance the browsing experience; however, the opposite seems to be true. Like many similar browser plug-ins, Cash Back Assistant is distributed primarily through software bundles. In most cases, users are oblivious to the fact that they are downloading and installing PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Cash Back Assistant and its ilk seem to take advantage of this and slither into a system undetected. Cash Back Assistant is compatible with most modern browsers－Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Cash Back Assistant manifests as an ugly sidebar that will take up a considerable chunk of your browser screen space. Various ads, pop-ups and sites will regularly occupy this sidebar, making it an annoying distraction. Furthermore, the content promoted by Cash Back Assistant is of questionable origin and may prove to be dangerous to your computer. Suffice to say, clicking on any ads and pop-ups promoted by Cash Back Assistant is an ill-advised idea. Due to its low utility, intrusive nature and distribution method, Cash Back Assistant is classified as a PUP with adware capabilities. Termination on sight is advised.
