CentralLot

CentralLot is an annoying Mac application that does not have any redeeming features, and removing it from your system may often be a challenging or nearly impossible task unless you use specialized Mac security software. It is not a surprise that CentralLot does not appear to have an official website or any software vendor to be associated with – instead, it is spread via fake advertisements, software bundles, bogus software updates and fake downloads exclusively. The good news is that installing CentralLot on your Mac will not have any consequences for you in terms of online security – this software is not threatening or threatening.

However, the lack of danger certainly does not mean that you should let CentralLot do whatever it wants. This app is known to manipulate the settings of the default system Web browser so that it redirects users to 'CentralLot Search,' a low-quality search engine. These redirects may catch you by surprise, and you should not forget that the results provided by CentralLot Search are unlikely to be as credible as the ones you would get from Yahoo or Bing.

Apart from manipulating Web browser settings, the CentralLot software will also apply some changes to the Mac configuration – it creates a new 'Launch Daemon' to grant itself persistence, and it sets up a new 'Device Profile' to make it more difficult to reverse your Web browser's settings. The best way to handle the issues that CentralLot causes is to use an updated Mac security scanner.
