Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Cinplus or Cinema Plus is a Potentially Unwanted Program with the attributes of both adware and browser hijackers. Although Cinplus markets itself as a streaming movie tool, Cinplus also may redirect your browser to an unwanted website or force an unrelated site to load additional advertisements. In normal circumstances, the removal of all confirmed PUPs only can heighten the security of your PC, which is why malware experts also suggest deleting Cinplus as your default response.
The Minuses of Adding Cinplus to Your Browser
You may see Cinplus in multiple versions, including Cinplus-2.7, Cinplus-2.4, and Cinplus-2.5, all of which show no meaningful variations from previous versions of this PUP. As both an adware program and a browser hijacker, Cinplus modifies your browser's settings for providing increased traffic to its affiliate websites and advertisers. As of malware analysts' last reports, the standard symptoms of an installed version of Cinplus may be as follows:
- Cinplus may automatically add itself to Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome, in the format of a browser extension.
- Cinplus also may add tasks to the Windows Task Scheduler that allow Cinplus to launch automatically, or under specified conditions.
- Web pages loaded by your browser may be modified by Cinplus, typically by its adding new advertising links, banners and other advertisement content. In malware analysts' review of Cinplus's advertisement network, they found some cases of Cinplus's promoting some attacks, fraudulent update tactics and other PC threats.
- As a secondary revenue source, Cinplus also may redirect your browser to affiliated websites of its choosing. These browser hijackings may redirect your online searches, lock your homepage or even block your access to other sites.
The Exit out of a 'Cinematic' Browser Experience
When installed normally, Cinplus will be visible in your browser's extensions menu, as well as in your operating system's list of installed programs. However, some installers for Cinplus may fail to provide these visible traces of Cinplus, although its browser symptoms, such as advertisements, should continue to be obvious. Failed attempts to delete Cinplus also may remove its entries from program and add-on lists, while failing to remove the advertising content, browser hijackings and other issues that make Cinplus problematic.
PC security tools, including anti-adware and anti-malware scanners, should have minimal or no problems with uninstalling Cinplus from your computer. Since Cinplus bases itself on the CrossRider platform, you may want to consider using security solutions that already have proven themselves against similar CrossRider-based PUPs. Malware analysts have identified numerous variants of this product besides Cinplus, including HQTotalS, Savings Hero, HD-VV, Radio Canyon Ads, LyricsMonkey, LyricsOn and LyricsContainer All of these applications possess adware characteristics that allow them, like Cinplus, to display advertisements unrelated to the pages that are forced to load them.
