Classified List

Posted: August 17, 2016

Classified List is a Web browser extension that is developed and distributed by SaferBrowser. SaferBrowser's utilities are well-known for offering poor features despite their claims that they can enhance the performance and functionality of your Web browser drastically. Classified List is no different, and users who install this program should not expect to see the great offers, promotions and discounts it claims to provide. Instead, the installation of Classified List may result in an unwanted change to your Web browser's default homepage. Just like other SaferBrowser products, Classified List also may change the default new tab page to a search engine linked to the browser extension. The search can be found at http://search.classifiedlist.net, and it features several quick links to pages like eBay and Craigslist.

The page is meant to be used as a search engine, but using the integrated search field may provide users with sponsored links and other results that would not appear in reputable search engines like Yahoo, Bing and Google. The Classified List extension is identified as a Potentially Unwanted Program, and users should consider removing it because of its lack of valuable features. The promotions that the extension provides come in the form of links to Craigslist, eBay and SuperAds – websites that you can visit without having to use a 3rd-party extension. Apart from being useless, Classified List's new tab page doesn't provide reliable results, and users should stick to using a reputable search engine like the one they used before installing Classified List. The extension can be removed via the list of installed browser extensions or with the assistance of an anti-malware utility.
