The CPU Guardian is advertised as a system optimization utility, which can help the users get rid of junk files, optimize the Registry, control scheduled tasks, and improve the overall state and performance of their computers. However, the usefulness of the CPU Guardian’s free version is questionable since it does not provide its users with the ability to carry out any of the tasks mentioned above. Instead, it only serves as a scanner that can check the computer for problems and generate a report with the optimizations that the CPU Guardian recommends. However, if the users want to resolve the pending issues, they may be asked to obtain a paid license for the CPU Guardian – something that you should not agree to do.

It is not recommended to pay for the CPU Guardian because it may use misleading tricks and exaggerated results to make minor problems appear more severe than they really are. This is a very basic and deceptive practice that plenty of low-quality system optimizers employ to increase sales. Another thing to remember about this particular software product is that it is detected as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by major security product vendors.

The installer of the CPU Guardian might create a scheduled task meant to launch the program whenever Windows starts. While this behavior is not strange, the users might not enjoy it because the free version of the CPU Guardian might display regular reminders that the user needs to obtain a paid key to resolve all reported problems. The advice is to stay away from software like that and take care of its removal as soon as possible. If the system optimizer is credible, it is fine to pay for it, but applications like the CPU Guardian are unknown and paying for them may not worth it. The removal of this PUP can be completed either manually or with the help of a suitable PC security tool.
