Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The CrimePack Exploit Kit is a collection of exploits that are configured and launched automatically when an unprotected PC loads a CrimePack Exploit Kit-hosting web page. The resultant attack allows the CrimePack Exploit Kit to install any kind of PC threat that its criminal owner (or, in most cases, renter) has configured the CrimePack Exploit Kit to distribute: average CrimePack Exploit Kit-related payloads often include backdoor Trojans and various forms of data-stealing spyware. Past CrimePack Exploit Kit attacks analyzed by malware experts have had disturbingly high rates of success, and all PC users with any Internet access whatsoever should do their best to block prospective CrimePack Exploit Kit attacks with the right anti-malware and web-security products.
CrimePack Exploit Kit: Delivering Crime Right to Your Hard Drive
The CrimePack Exploit Kit is an online PC threat that's slipped into both hacked and deliberately-malicious sites, from which the CrimePack Exploit Kit can launch automatically and without any major symptoms of its attacks. Like other exploit kits, such as the virtually omnipresent Blackhole Exploit Kit, the CrimePack Exploit Kit can select one of a wide range of different vulnerabilities to use for initiating its attacks, depending on the makeup of the PC that loads the supporting website. SpywareRemove.com malware researchers have been able to confirm the CrimePack Exploit Kit's employment of Java, PDF, ActiveX and Internet Explorer-based vulnerabilities, among others, all of which may be used to launch drive-by-download attacks.
When the CrimePack Exploit Kit has found a suitable exploit, the CrimePack Exploit Kit downloads and installs its chosen malware onto your computer. German-based PC users are some of the most commonly targeted by CrimePack Exploit Kit attacks, but SpywareRemove.com malware researchers warn that CrimePack Exploit Kit also has seen campaigns that may be related to targeting other countries' residents, such as Brazilians. In most cases, the installed payload is used to control the infected PC and/or steal personal information, but the CrimePack Exploit Kit can be used to install almost any kind of malware.
Busting the Crime that You Didn't Stop in Time
Updating vulnerable programs (particularly the ones listed earlier in this article), using robust browser security and having a good anti-malware program all can assist you with blocking a CrimePack Exploit Kit's drive-by-download attack. The CrimePack Exploit Kit has been confirmed to use exploits as old as 2010 with noticeably positive success rates for infections – an unconscionable lapse of security that should put emphasis on how important it is to update your software regularly.
However, like all exploit kits, the CrimePack Exploit Kit has more than one kind of vulnerability at its disposal, and also may use 'zero-day' style attacks that can't be blocked with security patches. If you feel that your browser may have been in any kind of contact with a potentially CrimePack Exploit Kit-infected site, you always should scan your PC with dependable anti-malware applications that can, hopefully, detect CrimePack Exploit Kit's payloads before they're able to do any damage.
