Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

It is always a good idea to read the news sites in order to be informed about recent events. There are even some programs that offer you access to the latest news directly from your desktop, but an application named 'DesktopNews' is not the recommended choice. The problem with this tool is not that it doesn't offer the features that the clients expect. The main issue with it is that DesktopNews may come with a range of highly annoying side effects. DesktopNews is categorized as adware because it may insert additional commercial materials in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Very soon you may deem these new ads as irritating because they may be rather intrusive. Since DesktopNews may attach to the browsers as an add-on, it may be capable of placing marketing elements in the majority of sites you open. They may be pop-ups, banners and interstitial ads that may be based on present browsing cookies. If you paid attention, most webpages inform you that they use cookies to adjust the displayed ads. The adware may use them for the same purpose, which means the displayed coupons and discounts may correspond to your needs. Security experts remind that the destination of these ads remains unknown. There is a chance for you to find yourself on a compromised platform after clicking on some commercial elements, so it is best to avoid them. It may be possible the Web clients to suffer random freezes and crashes due to the multimedia materials, which may consume resources and burden the system. While DesktopNews has an official page, it also may travel together with other free programs, so you may have agreed to install it without knowing. For best results, you should delete it with a dedicated anti-malware product.
