DominantPartition
DominantPartition is an annoying macOS application whose installation may be completed without your knowledge. This may happen when you interact with a low-quality software bundle or a fake download, which promises to give access to a great and helpful utility. Once DominantPartition is up and running, it grants itself persistence by applying changes to the macOS 'Launch Daemon.' After this, it may proceed to modify the 'Device Profile' configuration so that it would make changes to your Web browser's settings. By doing so, it gains the ability to redirect you to 3rd-party sites whenever you try to search the Web, load a new tab, or perform other common Web browser actions.
DominantPartition is not a threatening piece of software, but you shouldn't ignore the fact that it may impact your Web browsing sessions negatively. On top of being annoying, DominantPartition does not have any valuable features to offer, so there is no reason to keep it on your computer. If you suspect DominantPartition or a similar Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP)is manipulating your Web browser's behavior, then you should try to dispose of them as soon as possible.
The best way to make sure that DominantPartition's components and changes are gone for good is to use an up-to-date macOS security scanner.
