Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

DOS/Rovnix.gg is a component of a rootkit that may be used to varied purposes, all of which are threatening and may allow third parties to make other attacks against your computer. Since DOS/Rovnix.gg rarely is alone, any removal methods should focus on anti-malware tools with broad system-scanning functions. Malware experts caution that DOS/Rovnix.gg does not always show visible signs and that you should not attempt to remove DOS/Rovnix.gg without assistance from security solutions at least as sophisticated as this advanced PC threat.
The Family that Digs to the Root of Your PC to Compromise It
Rootkits are a long-identified, but continual threat to the computer security that are notorious for their especial difficulty of removal. DOS/Rovnix.gg shows how difficult it may be to delete these PC threats, since DOS/Rovnix.gg comes from a family that may incorporate such attacks as threatening modifications to the Windows NTFS, specialized threat components installed by other threats, separate attacks for 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems and interception of input-output operations. In practical terms, these attacks mean that detections of DOS/Rovnix.gg may be accompanied by the presence of other members of the Rovnix family and extra threats, as well as a variety of negative system modifications.
The two primary risks most strongly linked to DOS/Rovnix.gg's activities include the general installation of other threats and the creation of backdoor vulnerabilities. The latter may allow third parties to issue commands to your PC and control it from their server, while the former lets specialized attacks, such as ransomware pop-ups or advertisements, take place. However, malware researchers find nothing inherent about DOS/Rovnix.gg that forces its attacks to show signs that would make DOS/Rovnix.gg identifiable. Occasionally, a compromised PC may crash due to the system changes of DOS/Rovnix.gg or other Rovnix-based threats, but this should not be assumed to always be the case.
Nixing a DOS/Rovnix.gg Rootkit from Your PC
The advanced techniques used by DOS/Rovnix.gg and other members of the Rovnix family often require additional anti-malware steps to be taken before your security software can function. Malware experts suggest restarting your PC from a separate, uninfected OS, which may be done most easily by loading a backup USB device. After a simple reboot is made and DOS/Rovnix.gg disabled, your anti-malware software should function and be able to delete all major elements of DOS/Rovnix.gg's attack. Restoring some system settings may call for other procedures, such as repairing your OS with its factory disk.
Even though rootkits are well-known and identified as a threat, they continue to be profitable and see new developments, like DOS/Rovnix.gg, from year to year. Stopping these high-end PC threats from harming your system is accomplished mainly through blocking the most obvious infection vectors, such as outdated software, illegal download sites and suspicious file attachments. Despite the high news attention paid to vulnerabilities like Heartbleed, malware experts continue to find most attacks installing DOS/Rovnix.gg to be preventable with regular PC security precautions.
