Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

eDealsPop, also referred to as the eDeals Toolbar, is a browser add-on that provides offers for coupon codes and other shopping-related discounts. While eDealsPop is not a threat, its advertisements may be security or performance hazards, for which malware researchers have rated eDealsPop as a Potentially Unwanted Program. PC users are free to make their personal judgment calls about the viability of eDealsPop's advertised coupons, but, ordinarily, deleting eDealsPop will result in safer and more stable Web-browsing experiences.
When Shopping Deals Intrude on Your Browser
At Edeals.com, eDealsPop is marketed as a means of 'changing the way you shop online,' typically by the provision of discount codes and other e-coupons. These apparent bargains display alongside advertisements, such as product promotions for Ebay, Amazon and similar e-retailers. To date, malware researchers have failed to find any evidence of eDealsPop's advertisement networks being compromised or hijacked for threatening purposes. However, eDealsPop does contain functions that modify unaffiliated Web pages, which may harm the legibility of the underlying sites and cause worsened browser performance (such as poor loading times).
While most PC security institutions rate eDealsPop as a safe program, eDealsPop does warrant categorization as a Potentially Unwanted Program that has limited benefits to your computer. In most cases of adware programs that modify Web pages automatically, malware experts have found evidence of them being net detriments to the user's browser performance or safety. Ordinarily, removing eDealsPop is advised, if you have any doubts whatsoever about its viability as a shopping tool.
Popping the eDealsPop Shopping Bubble
eDealsPop may be installed along with other software, which is a common trait of similar adware. In the majority of such cases, programs with anti-adware features should detect the bundles if they have any appropriate opportunities to scan the relevant file. Free software domains and networks dedicated to distributing compromised files are especially common distribution hotspots for PUPs, including adware like eDealsPop. If you have any reason to download software from such a source, you should consider scanning any files before launching them.
Currently, eDealsPop does not have any history of attempting to conceal its files or obstruct any deletion efforts by its users. Even so, using anti-adware tools for removing eDealsPop can provide assurance that all of its Web-browsing changes truly have been removed from your computer. Incomplete deletion of adware, which often is the result of manual attempts, may result in persistent advertisements, even once eDealsPop is uninstalled.
eDealsPop's Web domain also has a prior association with Web-redirecting strategies and potential phishing attacks. While Edeals.com's current owners seem to be unrelated to these past incidents, all due caution should be considered, whenever you visit a website with such a poor history for safety.
