Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The Elite Web Tool is a low-quality Google Chrome extension, which does not appear to have versions compatible with other Web browsers. Google Chrome users are unlikely to search for this extension knowingly, because it does not have anything good to offer and, in fact, it does not even have an official website. The authors of the Elite Web Tool are spreading this extension with the help of low-quality advertisements and websites, which display a pop-up that might tell users to 'Add Extension In Order to keep you in safe browsing.' These messages appear to be becoming quite popular among authors of low-quality browser extensions, mainly because many users fall for these warnings and end up installing an add-on that is useless.
The good news is that the installation of the Elite Web Tool does not lead to any harmful consequences and, in fact, many users might not even realize that the Elite Web Tool has changed anything in their Web browser's settings. However, a closer analysis of the Elite Web Tool's behavior reveals that this extension may modify the address bar's settings so that all searches executed through there will refer users to Betterresults.net, Blpsearch.com, and then take them to the Yahoo Search. It is likely that this action is being performed to boost the traffic and search engine ranking of the first two websites, and then lead users to a Yahoo Search Results Page where they might see ads affiliated with the Elite Web Tool's authors.
If you have installed the Elite Web Tool recently and would like to dispose of it, then there are two ways you can take care of this problem. Option one is to remove the 'the Elite Web Tool' from the Google Chrome's Extension Manager, and option two is to use a credible cyber security tool, which will help remove Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) like this one.
