Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Etype (also marketed as eType) is a browser add-on that claims to host various typing-related features, such as a spell checker and multilingual capabilities. SpywareRemove.com malware researchers aren't able to vouch for Etype's efficacy at these tasks, but they have noted that Etype uses several functions that usually are limited to the domain of adware and/or browser hijackers. Most damningly, Etype promotes itself on the user's Facebook account automatically in a manner that's traditionally considered 'spamming'. As adware with questionable benefits, Etype usually should be deleted without question – unless you're absolutely certain that you want Etype's features and are willing to put up with its drawbacks. If you do need to remove Etype, you should use suitable anti-malware programs to make sure that all of Etype's components and system changes are completely deleted.
When Simple Typing Brings with It So Many Complicated Problems
Etype is marketed as a dictionary, translator and typing 'auto-complete' utility that guesses at the words you're typing and fills in the blanks for you. Accordingly, Etype always is active and will display dialogue balloons and other pop-ups while you type. Unlike most similar programs, Etype isn't limited to your web browser and also will monitor your typing in instant messengers, Office utilities and similar programs. These functions, while suspicious, aren't inherently dangerous, but SpywareRemove.com malware experts have found some traits of a typical Etype infection that can be considered harmful:
- Etype may hijack your Facebook account and use it to send self-promotional messages.
- Etype also may redirect your browser to search.etype.com (a sub-domain of its main website) whenever you try to search the web.
- Etype will launch automatically and without your permission.
- Etype may refuse to close or fail to present obvious methods for deactivating/uninstalling its software.
As an indirect result of Etype's changes, these issues can make your web-browsing less safe than usual. Additionally, Etype may hamper your system performance (since Etype launches automatically and is active-in-memory at all times).
Taking Your Typing Back to the Basics Minus Etype
Unlike common browser hijackers or adware, Etype doesn't have a history of being distributed with unrelated freeware products – although SpywareRemove.com malware experts emphasize that this doesn't necessarily make Etype any better than such similar PC threats.
Since Etype isn't likely to remove all of its system changes and software if you try to delete Etype by normal methods, deleting Etype should use qualified anti-malware programs whenever it's required. Unlike a rootkit or banking trojan, Etype isn't an advanced PC threat, and simple scans by quality anti-malware programs should be all that's required to get Etype out of your typing experiences.
