Fdownloader is not the right solution when you need assistance with your downloads. Although its unnamed developers promote it as a legitimate and safe download manager, Fdownloader is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). The questionable application relies on two primary distribution methods. Although it may be hard to find, this tool has an official site that hosts it. Several other platforms such as Software Informer also allow the download. However, Fdownloader also may be carried into your system by third-party freeware. Visually, this PUP is no different than the most popular torrent clients. What disturbs the clients is that it may cause some undesirable modifications in all available browsers. These changes may be very beneficial for the people behind Fdownloader, but the consequences for the users may be adverse. The PUP may generate some ads that may lead to third-party sites that are in the partner network of the unreliable download manager. Whenever the commercial materials redirect the user towards these sponsored platforms, the developers of Fdownloader will receive commissions for the service. The first problem of this activity is that the pop-ups, banners and interstitial ads by this PUP may come in vast amounts. You visualize them on several sites you open, which may become irritating. Second, the presence of the ads and respectively Fdownloader may slow the operating speed. In some cases, the users may even experience sporadic freezes and crashes. Third, some of the partner sites may contain risks for your PC or your security: they may offer potentially unsafe software, or may attempt to trick you. Since some errors may prevent the manual removal of the PUP, you should consider using an advanced anti-malware solution.
