Browser-based tactics come in all shapes – some of them are threatening because they will try to gain access to sensitive and payment information, while others are harmless but annoying. The tactic found falls into the latter category, and falling for it is not a major security concern. The page may show a prompt telling you to click 'Allow' to view a video that is loading in the background – however, the video loading animation is fake, and the page does not have any entertainment for you. Clicking the 'Allow' button it points you to will not play media – instead, it will subscribe you to the push notifications that distributes. This means that your Web browser will begin to show notifications originating from regularly.

The contents of the notifications are likely to focus on affiliate links, paid advertisements, offers for various services and products, etc. Overall, the notifications are not considered to be trustworthy, and it is best to avoid their contents. If you see such notifications in your browser on a regular basis, then you need to take the required actions to strip off's permissions. This can be done via your Web browser's settings.
