The purpose of this scam is pretty simple – to steal the money of more naive users. For the fraud to take place, the administrators of gethuman.us first need to convince the unsuspecting person to call them. For this reason, they try to scare him as much as possible by claiming there are numerous 'viruses' in the system, although this term is inaccurate. The deceptive pop-ups mention pretty dangerous potential outcomes, including financial losses and identity thefts. What is more, the notifications contain the Microsoft logos to evoke trust, although gethuman.us is not associated with the creators of Windows in any way. As a solution to the problem, which doesn't exist in reality, the misleading warnings ask the user to call 844-416-7294 for assistance. However, instead of the promised 'certified technicians' the people who will answer your call are scammers. Allegedly, they should clean your PC from the dangerous applications that work in the background. Since your machine is most likely safe, they will just steal your cash by offering nothing. Gethuman.us is related to a browser hijacker, which can open the malicious subdomain automatically. If you notice the dangerous site as your homepage, you should immediately perform a system scan to eradicate the dubious add-on from Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
