Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The Ginyas Browser Companion is an adware program that uses your browser to load additional advertisements, which the Ginyas Browser Companion claims can offer its users 'huge savings.' However, since the concrete discounts of using the Ginyas Browser Companion are relatively insubstantial, particularly compared to doing your own shopping research through more reputable third parties, malware experts suggest that you remove the Ginyas Browser Companion. Doing so will prevent your browser from inadvertently loading unsafe content, having poor performance or experiencing unexpected issues with website formatting. All of these tend to be common with adware such as the Ginyas Browser Companion.
A Companion You Shouldn't Take on Your Online Journeys
Along with the innumerable variants of other adware programs that seem to be promising more than they can provide, the Ginyas Browser Companion is a Web-browsing extension claiming to give you access to new ways of saving online. However, although the Ginyas Browser Companion's advertisements are shopping-oriented, their actual deals and discounts are of minimal value to the user, which makes its installation a questionable decision. Malware researchers also warn that the Ginyas Browser Companion may display its advertisements via a variety of potentially invasive methods, such as:
- Injected in-line text advertisements, or advertising links that usually are detected by underlined text keywords.
- Pop-up advertising windows and their 'stealth' counterpart, pop-under windows that load behind your primary window.
- Thumb nails, banners and other graphical advertisements that are displayed within your browser window.
The Ginyas Browser Companion also includes other, potential 'features' that only are mentioned in its overly lengthy service agreement, such as the possibility of the Ginyas Browser Companion redirecting your searches to third parties. Since none of these functions has any meaningful advantages to your Web browser, malware researchers consider it best to remove a Ginyas Browser Companion from any PC modified by the Ginyas Browser Companion, whether its installation was intentional or accidental.
Ejecting the Shopping Companion You Never Wanted
The Ginyas Browser Companion provides uninstallation instructions on its website that, more often than not, fail to remove all of the Ginyas Browser Companion's components, regardless of how precisely you follow their steps. Malware experts consider it common sense to use anti-malware or anti-adware utilities to analyze the PC of any machine that's been saddled with the Ginyas Browser Companion, which will cover for the most likely deliberate inaccuracy of these instructions. The Ginyas Browser Companion may not be adware, but prolonged exposure to the Ginyas Browser Companion's advertising does risk your exposure to threatening software and other PC threats that circulate through advertisement networks.
The Ginyas Browser Companion can be installed through its website, which some PC users may make the mistake of doing, due to the Ginyas Browser Companion's typically misleading marketing jargon. However, malware experts also have seen reports of the Ginyas Browser Companion being installed automatically. This sometimes may be a sign of a threat infection, and you should be especially thorough while scanning your computer to delete the Ginyas Browser Companion in such circumstances.
