Go Maps
Go Maps is a browser toolbar that is installed on your machine as an extension. Go Maps is only compatible with Google Chrome, and users who come across Go Maps may often see it being advertised as a unique utility that can help find maps, directions and fastest paths from point A to point B. These features may seem great at first, but there are many other free services that offer the same functionality without asking users to install dubious browser extensions. This isn't in Go Maps' favor since this extension may be considered obsolete, due to a large number of available alternatives. Apart from offering generic features, Go Maps is also a piece of software whose installation may lead to an unexpected change to Google Chrome's new tab page. When the Go Maps by Safer Finder extension is installed, it may change the default new tab page to http://search.gomaps.co.
Using the search features integrated into http://search.gomaps.co should not be an issue because the search engine queries all search terms through the Yahoo's search algorithm. This means that the end-user will receive the same results regardless if they use http://search.gomaps.co or Yahoo. Since Go Maps can be replaced with an alternative that neither requires installation nor tampers with your Web browser's new tab page easily, it is safe to assume that most people would prefer to remove the Go Maps extension. To do so, users should open the list of installed Chome extensions and opt to uninstall the 'Go Maps' extension.
