While this might sound like a tempting offer at first, you must remember that major companies rarely run giveaways like this, and even if they do, they usually don’t give out £950,000.00 – the prize cited in the tactic.

Usually, the victims are reached with the ‘Google winner’ Email Scam via a fraudulent email messages that they receive in their Gmail inbox. The message is designed to look as if Google sent it, and it even has a message from Google’s CEO. Often, the users might be asked to claim their reward by visiting a 3rd-party Web page where they might be prompted to fill in sensitive information such as their name and address, Google login credentials or even credit card details. You should never accept to share information like this on suspicious websites that were promoted to you by an email that promises you money or great rewards.

The 'Google winner' Email Scam does not appear to be used to distribute cyber threats, but it still should not be underestimated due to the terrible consequences its victims may suffer if they decide to share their information.
