Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

G-search.pro is a suspicious search engine that uses the Russian search portal Rambler.ru to deliver search results. It is safe to say that not many people have heard of G-search.pro so that what could be the reason for the attention this page receives? The answer is that the owners of G-search.pro may use unfair techniques to bring users to their website. Some browser extensions may ask for the user's permission to set G-search.pro as their default new tab page, therefore ensuring that the affected user will generate a fair amount of traffic towards G-search.pro whenever they open a new tab. This may not seem like a big deal, but it might be used to improve the traffic, search engine ranking, and the revenue potential of G-search.pro artificially, therefore helping the authors monetize their page at the expense of users who open G-search.pro multiple times a day unwillingly.
The good news is that even though the presence of G-search.pro might be a bit annoying, neither the page nor the software that brought it to your Web browser is classified as harmful. Browser hijackers may be responsible for unwanted changes to your Web browser's settings, but it is possible that G-search.pro might be associated with a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). Due to the unknown source of the problem, it might be difficult to dispose of the software that set G-search.pro as your new tab page manually. The recommended course of action is to run a reputable anti-malware tool since good computer security software is capable of recognizing and erasing both PUPs and browser hijackers that may be associated with G-search.pro.
