The Image Downloader Chrome Extension is classified as adware by researchers, and its removal is strongly recommended because it does not offer any valuable or irreplaceable features. According to the extension's official description on the Chrome Store, the Image Download is meant to provide users with a quickly accessible context menu that can help them download images they see on the Web. However, this is already an out-of-the-box feature that Google Chrome has so that it is not necessary to install a 3rd-party extension to be able to download images from the Web.
Users who opt to install the Image Downloader Chrome Extension might not know that this add-on is programmed to inject ads in opened Web pages, therefore exposing the users to content they might not be interested in seeing, as well as diminishing the overall quality of their Web browsing experience. The ads that the Image Downloader Chrome Extension displays may often promote dubious products, services and websites so that we advise our readers to disregard ads that seem to be out of place. A peculiar fact is that the developer of the Image Downloader adware might have forgotten to modify a text string used to tag the ads. Due to this, the Image Downloads ads might be labeled as 'Ad by Not Set,' 'Powered by Not Set,' or 'by Not Set.'
If you think that the Image Downloader Chrome Extension is present on your computer and is injecting ads in your Web browsing sessions, then we advise you to run an up-to-date PC security scanner that will help identify and remove the intrusive application immediately.
