iPhone Calendar Events Spam

Posted: March 25, 2020

The iPhone Calendar Events Spam is an issue that has been bothering iPhone users worldwide for a few years. This problem is rather easy to spot because it will bombard your Calendar application with tons of fake events that point to a shady website such as Important-notice.com – the site's name is another attempt to trick users into clicking on the link in their Calendar app since they might mistake it for an important notice.

Users are likely to experience the iPhone Calendar Events Spam because they have provided their iCloud-associated email address to a shady website. Keep in mind that the tactic works by using just your email address – the fraudsters do not need your full login credentials. Once they have your full email address, they can send automated event invitations to it, and all of those will show up in your calendar.

It is important to note that you are unlikely to experience this issue if you are using a 3rd-party calendar application on your iPhone – this particular spam only works with the default iPhone calendar. One way to resolve this issue is to turn the iCloud Calendar off and resort to using a 3rd-party calendar application. Another way to fix the issue is to access your inbox and block the spam accounts that are bombarding you with event invitations.
