LeadingModuleSearch

LeadingModuleSearch belongs to the AdLoad malware family, and it can be classified as a browser hijacker. This potentially threatening application modifies a user’s browser settings to redirect searches to its affiliated websites and promotes dubious online content.
LeadingModuleSearch places third-party advertising content to all websites that a user visits. These intrusive advertisements could be fake surveys, coupons, pop-ups, and other schemes, which, when clicked, usually lead the user to compromised, unsafe and deceptive websites. Furthermore, clicking on these advertisements could trigger the installation of additional threatening software automatically.

Due to its similarities to browser hijackers, LeadingModuleSearch also has the ability to change a user’s homepage, default search engine, and new tab settings, replacing them with fake and illegitimate Web searchers. As a result, each time the affected users open their browser or make online searches, they get redirected to the fraudsters’ illicit Internet pages. Another unsafe feature of most browser hijackers is their ability to collect user browsing history and information. Subsequently, that data can get easily into the hands of third-party actors who are seeking to misuse it for financial profits.

LeadingModuleSearch can infect a computer through a method known as “bundling,” or as an unwanted or corrupted addition to some regular, pre-packaged software. You can clear your PC from a LeadingModuleSearch infection with the help of an automated malware removal tool.
