Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

LiveLyrics is adware that displays lyrics for music videos along with advertisements that LiveLyrics displays in your Web browser's window. Although LiveLyrics isn't considered a threat and doesn't try to harm your computer, LiveLyrics's advertisements may cause security or performance problems, for which malware experts generally would recommend removing LiveLyrics. Deleting LiveLyrics and other adware programs are best achieved through anti-malware and anti-adware products that are designed to uninstall them while also removing any undesirable browser changes (which aren't always obvious).
Living an Online Life that's Fueled by Song... and Advertisements
The rising profits and traffic in streaming video sites like YouTube has led to a highly-specific evolution in adware programs: the lyrics-providing browser add-on. Hoping to cash in on the popularity of well-known Internet media, LiveLyrics is one of many adware products that provide some minor lyrics text-displaying functions. However, LiveLyrics monetizes itself through the display of advertisements, thus, forcing malware researchers to consider LiveLyrics adware and a potential security risk. Common adware issues that you should watch for while using LiveLyrics (either deliberately or by mistake) include:
- Injected links to LiveLyrics advertisements, usually based on text keywords.
- Web pages modified to host additional graphical advertising content such as banners.
- The notoriously well-known pop-up advertisements, which also may appear in a pop-under format (a window beneath your browser's window, as opposed to superimposed over it).
While LiveLyrics doesn't intend to harm its viewers, adware programs generally aren't noted for a rigorous screening method for their advertising partners. With new PC threats emerging and exploiting poorly-secured advertisements networks on a regular basis, allowing LiveLyrics to continue advertising in your browser is a potentially major security risk for the rest of your computer.
Turning a Case of LiveLyrics into DeletedLyrics
LiveLyrics is compatible with most Windows-based Web browsers. Without any independent installation methods, LiveLyrics is more likely to be installed through the bundled installers of freeware websites than through any other method, although malware researchers do occasionally see Trojans installing adware programs as payloads. A reasonable level of caution about which sites you trust for downloads, the care to read through software installation agreements, and a willingness to uncheck 'optional' components that aren't to your benefit will give you easy ways to avoid common adware infection vectors for programs like LiveLyrics. Of course, most anti-malware and anti-adware products also should be able to identify bundle-based installers that distribute adware and other PUPs.
Before you've removed LiveLyrics, you also can take any of various basic steps in online security to keep any advertisements from harming your computer. Although LiveLyrics and many other adware add-ons tend to be able to ignore advertisements-blocking features, disabling scripts will provide a limited defense against some of the most severe attacks that could come from compromised advertisements. Being able to identify fraudulent security warnings, prize-offering contests and other strategies that commonly are used to attack PC users also is extremely helpful whenever you're dealing with multiple advertisements from questionable third parties.
