Local1Oweb.com

Posted: October 14, 2011

Local1Oweb.com is a scam website that promotes a nonexistent work-at-home job, while Local1Oweb.com makes Local1Oweb.com's real profit off of selling useless software and phishing for personal information. It's unlikely that you'll ever run across local1Oweb.com by accident, but SpywareRemove.com malware researchers have found that local1Oweb.com is using spam e-mail messages to spread links to itself throughout the Internet. Although local1Oweb.com does look semi-professional due to having stolen Local1Oweb.com's design template from the official NBC website, local1Oweb.com's job offer is fake, and Local1Oweb.com's software products are fraudulent. You should avoid even minor contact with local1Oweb.com and take steps to cancel your credit card if you've given your information away, while purchasing local1Oweb.com's fake software package.

The Local1Oweb.com Work-at-Home Ripoff

Local1Oweb.com makes the rather incredible claim that you can earn 'up to $87 an hour' by working from home as an untrained computer-user – and all you have to do, supposedly, is purchase a $100 piece of software and give Local1Oweb.com a few tidbits of personal information. Local1Oweb.com will ask for you zip code and e-mail address for the purposes of verifying job openings in your area, but SpywareRemove.com malware researchers have found that Local1Oweb.com always returns an available job opening and makes no effort at checking available slots.

This simple phishing scheme is also supported by a scamware promotional effort that Local1Oweb.com doesn't mention, until you dig deeper into the site – an offer of a vital marketing informational package that Local1Oweb.com sells for $100. This software is supposed to be your ticket to the Home Wealth Formula, but Home Wealth Formula contains no information that you couldn't find with half a minute of Google searches and is, certainly, not worth the vast amount of money that you're charged for it. In reality, Local1Oweb.com does make money off of Home Wealth Formula, but only by selling this fake product to unlucky victims.

Local1Oweb.com copies the NBC website interface without even bothering to hide the stolen visuals and redirects you to home41income.com (a similarly-malicious site) with Local1Oweb.com's links. Contact with Local1Oweb.com or home41income.com is strongly discouraged by SpywareRemove.com malware researchers, since they may attempt to install browser hijackers or spambots that force your PC to become a part of the Home Wealth Formula scam.

Local1Oweb.com E-mail: Don't Sink Your Teeth into This Spam

Casual contact with Local1Oweb.com is most likely to begin after you've been exposed to an obfuscated or poorly-explained link to Local1Oweb.com. SpywareRemove.com malware researchers have found Local1Oweb.com, like many other forms of malicious websites, promoting itself via spam-based marketing campaigns.

A typical Local1Oweb.com spam message will look similar to the example shown here:

'hey andy_hellman I cant believe this http://www.local1Oweb.com'

As long as you don't click on the link, all you need to do is delete the spam e-mail message to close down all possible avenues of Local1Oweb.com attack. Local1Oweb.com spambots can cause these forms of spam to be sent by close friends and acquaintances, and this can occur even if they only visited Local1Oweb.com without initiating any downloads. If this happens to your PC or an acquaintance's PC, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers strongly encourage you to use an appropriate anti-malware program to scan your hard drive and remove the Local1Oweb.com infection before other harm can occur.
