Local Classified Ads

Posted: March 2, 2020

The Local Classified Ads is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that may pose as a useful browser add-on dedicated to providing its users with access to classified online advertisements from their area, as well as with the ability to post their advertisements for products and services. However, there is one small catch – users also can only install the Local Classified Ads if they accept to allow this add-on to replace their default new tab pages with Search.localclassifiedsadstab.com, and their default search engines with Query.localclassifiedsadstab.com. As for the classified advertisements that the extension promises to provide, you should know that they are hosted by public services like Craigslist and Close5 Ads.

Installing the Local Classified Ads will not provide you with any useful features, and it appears that the sole purpose of this add-on is to bring more traffic to the websites we mentioned above. As for the classified advertisements, the extension simply refers users to 3rd-party services that you can access without installing 3rd-party add-ons.

If you have the 'Local Classified Ads' add-on installed, then you should know that it is not mandatory to remove it. However, if you dislike the changes it makes, then you should consider getting rid of this PUP either manually or by using a suitable computer security tool, certainly.
