Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Local Moxie can refer either to a search engine website or to one of the many browser hijackers and Potentially Unwanted Programs that promote the Local Moxie website by redirecting your browser without your permission. SpywareRemove.com malware experts link most Local Moxie redirects to attacks from Websearch toolbars and browser add-ons, which will redirect you to one of various fake search sites before redirecting your browser a second time towards LocalMoxie.com. The Local Moxie site and results from Local Moxie searches are not designed as infection vectors, but may include irrelevant or potentially unsafe content, and SpywareRemove.com malware experts recommend taking high caution while exploring any links related to Local Moxie or add-ons that promote Local Moxie. Deleting Local Moxie add-ons, browser hijackers and related PC threats usually will require anti-malware products that can remove all of their associated browser settings changes.
Local Moxie: a Site with All the Moxie It Needs to Jam Itself into Your Browser
As a website, Local Moxie sets itself apart from other search engines only by its poor quality of service: instead of delivering search results ranked according to their relevance, Local Moxie also supplies advertising links that are unrelated to your queries. These links are mixed in with the real search results without being marked, allowing Local Moxie to redirect its traffic to partnered sites and derive some small revenue from doing so. Given this poor business practice, SpywareRemove.com malware experts can't recommend using Local Moxie for anything, although they do note that Local Moxie isn't dedicated to promoting malicious Web content (such as phishing attacks, drive-by-downloads or rogue security products).
Redirects to Local Moxie searches usually are related to the presence of Potentially Unwanted Programs, adware and browser hijackers from the Websearch family. As a matter of habit, these PC threats reroute your searches to a generic 'Websearch' site that seems to have search functions, but, in reality, just redirects you to Local Moxie or similar sites. Websearch.youwillfind.info, Websearch.simplespeedy.info, Websearch.lookforithere.info, Websearch.a-searchpage.info, Websearch.searchmainia.info and Websearch.homesearch-hub.info all are sites that SpywareRemove.com malware experts have tied to this search-hijacking campaign.
Keeping Your Browser from Being the New Boat in Local Moxie's Stream of Free Traffic
Local Moxie is not a site that's dedicated to marketing malicious software or any form of Web-based attacks, but SpywareRemove.com malware researchers warn that links condoned by Local Moxie are not necessarily filtered for the safety of any visitors. As such, they recommend a minimum of contact with the Local Moxie site at the best of times. Since Local Moxie redirects are symptoms of the presence of various forms of browser hijackers and unwanted browser add-ons, you usually should combat them with anti-malware programs with good histories of removing browser-based PC threats (such as the Searchdwebs Virus, for one example).
Two major infection methods for PC threats that cause redirects to Local Moxie searches include free applications compromised with 'additional' software, as well as Trojans that are designed to download additional PC threats. In terms of security, the latter should be of most concern, and SpywareRemove.com malware researchers especially recommend scanning your PC after any signs of Local Moxie redirects that occur without your having installed any new applications recently.
