Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

LowPricesApp is a Potentially Unwanted Program that displays advertisements from within your Web browser. Although most adware, including LowPricesApp, isn't designed to attack your PC, advertisements from LowPricesApp may promote threatening content by mistake or harm the overall performance of your browser. To account for these risks, malware experts suggest that any users of LowPricesApp who didn't install LowPricesApp intentionally use anti-adware tools to delete LowPricesApp from their machines.
The Low Prices with Surprisingly High Costs
LowPricesApp is adware distributed primarily through bundles with other applications, such as free gaming utilities, although malware experts have seen some incidents where LowPricesApp also has been part of a Trojan's payload. LowPricesApp installs itself as an extension to the Chrome browser, with other browsers still unconfirmed for being affected. After doing so, its primary symptoms may include:
- LowPricesApp may modify the HTML of Web pages as your browser loads them to accommodate new advertisements. LowPricesApp may inject sidebar advertisements, banners, search results and other affiliate links.
- LowPricesApp may load interstitial advertisements that redirect you to advertisements prior to you loading an intended website.
- LowPricesApp also may load advertisements in an additional, transparent overlay, displayed on top of your Web page content.
Some LowPricesApp advertisements also have included promotional efforts for other Potentially Unwanted Programs, as well as possible rogue security products. The latter can be identified and distinguished from their legitimate counterparts, due to displaying fake system information and interfering with your real security software.
All confirmed reports of LowPricesApp installations have occurred in 2014, indicative of its likely newly-developed nature as adware. Although malware researchers sometimes find LowPricesApp installed along with other PUPs, there are no indications that LowPricesApp is cloned directly from other adware products. Relevant PC security programs may need updates before they can identify LowPricesApp, which has a limited identification rate on most threat databases.
Slashing the Advertisement Prices You didn't Want
Your default position towards any adware program always should be to uninstall LowPricesApp, unless LowPricesApp can provide remarkable reasons for justifying its presence. This harsh response especially is recommended for products like LowPricesApp and similar PUPs that may not use traditional installation methods and may not promote a trustworthy company that could be held accountable for its actions. For a minimum of unexpected side effects afterward, removing LowPricesApp from Chrome should use the same anti-adware products that are proven efficacious at uninstalling similarly unwanted add-ons. Since LowPricesApp sometimes is seen accompanied by actual threats, you also may wish to follow up with comprehensive anti-malware scans.
You're most likely to encounter LowPricesApp as part of a bundle based installer. Archetypical bundle utilities may be detectable by appropriate security software, along with the individual PUPs, like LowPricesApp extensions that they carry. Even if you're interested in finding free software with engaging content, it bears keeping in mind that otherwise harmless files on child-friendly websites also may carry an unwanted or malign program.
