Mac Guard

Posted: May 25, 2011

Mac Guard aka MacGuard is a fake anti-virus software spreading on the Internet and targeting Mac OS users. Mac Guard spreads via fake scanner web pages or via a Trojan infection generated to look like a flash update or video codec. Mac Guard may change your ability to browse the web because of a change in the proxy server set by the malware program. When Mac Guard is installed and running on a computer, it will show fake security alerts that are further used to frighten you into believing that your computer has some serious problems. When Mac Guard installs itself on a computer system, it executes a fake PC scan. Mac Guard then displays fabricated pop-up security alerts and system error messages in order to scare affected computer users that their PCs are infected with a variety of computer threats. The main aim of the Mac Guard is to persuade its victims to purchase Mac Guard. To block Mac Guard from leading to more harm to your PC, remove it as quickly as possible.
