Magic Disk

The Magic Disk is a Chinese disk optimization and management software utility, which is published by Chengdu Xingju Infinite Technology Co., Ltd. Through research, we were unable to find an official website of neither the publisher not the product in question so that we believe that this application is being distributed via software bundles and fake download offers entirely, which users might come across thanks to shady download pages and questionable advertisements. The good news is that installing the Magic Disk on your computer is unlikely to cause major problems since this application is not classified as 'unsafe.' However, it has been categorized as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), and some ant-virus products tag it as adware, which means that it might possess the ability to expose its users to various online advertisements.

One of the good ways to ensure that the Magic Disk will never be installed on your PC is being more careful about the websites you browse and the files you download from the Web. As we mentioned earlier, software bundling seems to be the most prominent method used to spread the Magic Disk, and that's why you need to pay extra attention when installing new freeware and shareware applications since they are the likely suspects when talking about software bundles. The offer to install the Magic Disk might be disguised cleverly, or the product might be promoted as a one-of-a-kind useful utility that you should install at all costs. The recommendation is to avoid installing 3rd-party software that is offered to you by another application's installation wizard since this is unlikely to introduce you to any convenient programs.

If you suspect that the Magic Disk software suite might have been installed on your computer, then you should check and solve the issue as soon as possible to avoid future complications. If you wish to detect the Magic Disk manually, then you should check your running processes for the presence of a task called 'mgdisk.exe,' which is the Magic Disk's primary executable. Another place to look for this PUP is the Windows Control Panel – if you notice either an 'MGDisk' or 'Magic Disk' entries there, then you can proceed to uninstall them through the control panel. Naturally, the most convenient and swift way to dispose of the Magic Disk is to use a credible PC security scanner that will identify and remove all of the Magic Disk's components easily.
