MyOfficeTab

The MyOfficeTab extension claims to provide users with access to a broad selection of document-editing tools that can be used from the Web browser directly without installing stand-alone software. However, the usefulness of this add-on is questionable due to several reasons. First, there are plenty of free document-editing toolkits online, and using them does not require the installation of 3rd-party add-ons – the best example is Google Documents. Another worrying thing about the MyOfficeTab add-on is that its installation asks for permission to replace the default new tab page with a website affiliated with the extension’s publisher. Of course, this change is not harmful, but users might not be happy with it since it may introduce an unknown website to their daily browsing habits.

The new tab page that MyOfficeTab promotes appears to be safe, and it does give access to a search feature that delivers reliable results. In addition to this, it hosts a toolbar, which provides the users with quick access to the wide array of document-editing tools mentioned in the first paragraph.

If you have added the MyOfficeTab to your Web browser and you are not satisfied with the features and changes it brought, then we advise you to take care of its removal as soon as possible. The removal task can be taken care of either manually or with the help of a sophisticated PC security tool.
