The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:

High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.

Mysearchengine.ru is an unpopular search engine that doesn't utilize a unique search API. Instead, its search field runs all search queries through a customized version of the Google search engine. The results are delivered via Google's official search API, so there's no doubt that users will be provided with reliable links and content. However, the Mysearchengine.ru may use this simple trick to promote its own Google ads, therefore making money off their websites by using unfair tricks to bring users to their Web page. The unfair tricks in question are quite simple and common, especially when talking about smaller search engines that are neither anything special nor relevant. Mysearchengine.ru's owners rely on browser hijackers to bring thousands of new users to their websites on a daily basis. These browser hijackers are not threatening, but they may cause annoying changes to your Web browser's settings like setting Mysearchengine.ru as the default new tab page, homepage and search aggregator. This way, the browser hijacker can, without causing any harm, bring thousands of users to Mysearchengine.ru, therefore boosting the owner's ability to monetize their websites significantly.
The Mysearchengine.ru browser hijackers may lurk in all sorts of downloadable content – software bundles, low-quality download managers, or unreliable software whose authors may get money for promoting the Mysearchengine.ru search engine. The good news is that the Mysearchengine.ru website, as well as the browser hijackers that promote it are not unsafe, and they don't threaten your online safety. However, this doesn't mean the Mysearchengine.ru hijacker should be ignored. As long as this software is present on your computer, you might be unable to change your Web browser's default new tab page, home page, and search engine to anything different than Mysearchengine.ru. Usually, browser hijackers are installed as Web browser extensions, and it may be possible to remove the Mysearchengine.ru hijacker manually by checking your list of installed Web browser extensions for any suspicious entries. However, the more reliable and efficient way of dealing with this problem is to run an anti-malware scanner that guarantees that all of the hijacker's components will be removedpermanently, and your Web browser's settings will be restored.
