nJoyPlay Now

Posted: May 30, 2017

The nJoyPlay Now is a browser extension that was taken off the official Chrome Store recently due to the unwanted side effects the installation of this add-on may cause. As the name suggests, the nJoyPlay Now is meant to provide users with quick access to free online games that can be played through their Web browser directly. However, the nJoyPlay Now does not promote unique content and, instead, it mAy simply work by replacing the user's default new tab page with a sponsored website affiliated with the nJoyPlay Now's publisher. The new tab page users might see after installing the nJoyPlay Now may include not just a search field, but also links to online game directories and content that falls into the same category.

The software publisher behind the nJoyPlay Now is associated with a large number of 'nJoy' branded extensions that offer similar features – access to music, articles, videos and other online content. The common thing between the nJoyPlay Now and the rest of the extensions featured in the nJoy portfolio is that they are all classified as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) by computer security software. The installation of the nJoyPlay Now can't occur unless the user permits the software to modify their new tab page. The good news is that although the changes the nJoyPlay Now brings might be annoying, at least they are not harmful. The search hosted on the new tab page the nJoyPlay Now promotes does work as intended, and users do get access to games hosted on 3rd-party websites. However, accessing these games is not that difficult if you just search for them on Google, therefore making the nJoyPlay Now extension unnecessary.

Users who wish to uninstall the nJoyPlay Now can do this either manually via their Web browser's settings, or by using a trustworthy anti-malware solution.
