NetInput

Posted: January 7, 2021

NetInput is a deceptive macOS application that may be installed as an extension for the Safari Web browser. NetInput is not a legitimate piece of software and it is recommended to keep it away from your computer. The pleasant news is that this software is not harmful in any way – its installation may, however, bring intrusive and unwanted changes to your Web browser's behavior. For example, NetInput is known to replace the Web browser's default new tab page and search engine with an alternative website, which may not work reliably. On top of all this, NetInput's removal may prove to be a difficult task to execute since this Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) takes extra measures to grant itself persistence.

If you suspect that your macOS settings may have been manipulated by NetInput or a similar piece of software, then we advise you not to overlook the issue. The best way to solve the problem is to run a suitable macOS security tool and use its scanner to identify and remove NetInput's components. The removal of the PUP should revert any changes it brought to your computer automatically.
