The New Tab Search Manager application may be promoted as a useful browser utility, which offers users the ability to enhance their Web searching experience. It does this by introducing them to a 3rd-party new tab page, which is different from the default one that Google Chrome uses. At the moment, there are no versions available for other Web browsers so that Chrome users are the only ones to be affected by the minor issues that the New Tab Search Manager may cause.

The installation of the New Tab Search Manager seems to happen via direct download, which means that users must agree to add the extension to their Web browser manually. We've not received reports of the New Tab Search Manager being included in freeware or shareware bundles so that it is unlikely that the New Tab Search Manager can be found anywhere else apart from the Chrome Store.

When the New Tab Search Manager is installed, it will modify the new tab page by replacing the previous one with a new website automatically, which only features a search field. However, the unique thing that users will get access to is that they can use their new tab to switch between different search engines – Bing, Yahoo, Google, DuckDuckGo, Yandex.ru, and others instantly. While this feature of the New Tab Search Manager might be seen as helpful, you should keep in mind that this software is marked as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by multiple major names in the cyber security industry. The removal of software of this sort is not mandatory, but it is recommended if you want to avoid suspicious software, which may tamper with your Web browser and system settings. By removing the New Tab Search Manager, you'll also ensure that Google Chrome will restore the new tab page it used to employ before the installation of the PUP in question.
