‘NewUpdate.Update4free.org’ Pop-Ups

If you find yourself on NewUpdate.Update4free.org during your surfing sessions, you should leave the site immediately to keep your PC safe. The administrators of this deceptive page use it to spread potentially dangerous software. All visitors of this domain will notice the same pop-up, according to which the flash player needs to be updated. This information appears even if you have no flash player at all. While the exact nature of the offered program varies, one thing is certain – it is not a real update. If you agree to download what NewUpdate.Update4free.org promotes, you may load some Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), adware or even a cyber threat. The deceptive domain may easily trick a significant portion of users. The listed features sound quite appealing: allegedly, the new Flash Player version supports more file formats and runs faster, while the license is still free. In addition, the pop-up claims that unless you agree to load the offered software, you will be unable to view the content of the site. In reality, the page is empty and is designed solely for malicious purposes. The cyber security experts managed to link this site with an aggressive browser hijacker, which may attach to Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer as a plugin. It sets NewUpdate.Update4free.org as the homepage, and also redirects the users there when they open new tabs. Most likely this suspicious add-on entered as an addition towards freeware – an approach called "bundling". What you need to do is to perform a system scan with reputable security software, which will delete the hijacker from your computer.
