Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The NIX Player is a dubious application whose installation file is unlikely to be found on any reputable website. This is because this application appears to be spread with the help of fraudulent messages only, which users might come across while browsing low-quality websites. The messages in question might state that the installation of the NIX Player is recommended because it will enable the viewer to access full HD videos, use a safer video player, and enhance the quality of all videos viewed through Chrome, Firefox or Opera. We assure you that ads and pop-ups that promote software with statements like these are more than likely to be fake. The NIX Player is the living proof for this since this application does nothing to enhance the user's video-viewing experience and, instead, it may cause problems by tampering with the Web browser's settings or injecting intrusive ads on active Web browser windows.
Users who are using a sufficient protective anti-malware software suite are unlikely to be bothered by the NIX Player since this software's installation will be stopped with a warning immediately. However, if you don't use a proper security product, then you might not be warned that the NIX Player has been identified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), and you should not proceed with its installation unless you are absolutely certain of its credibility.
The NIX Player is not unsafe so that having it installed does not put you in harm's way. However, you certainly would be better off not having the NIX Player on your computer so that you should consider taking the required steps to ensure its removal. The best way to guarantee that all of NIX Player's components are eliminated is to use an up-to-date PC security product.
