Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The OneDrive.exe CPU Miner is part of a long list of Trojan miners, which are installed without the user's approval, and then launched to use the computer's CPU resources to mine for various cryptocurrencies such as Monero stealthily. While these miners do not pose a threat to the information and files of users, they might cause other issues such as:
- Poor computer performance due to the excessive amount of processing power used by the miner.
- System instability and crashes.
- Potential hardware damage if the CPU isn't cooled properly or cleaned from dust on a regular basis.
The CPU miners will mine for the specified cryptocurrency silently, and all generated profits will be sent to the author's wallet automatically. In short, this means that the cybercrooks are hijacking the hardware resources of random PC users to use them for their own gain.
Unfortunately, the OneDrive.exe CPU Miner is not the only Trojan miner we've encountered recently – we received hundreds of updates regarding various stealthy mining applications, which are programmed to work silently, without making the user aware of their presence:
yam.exe, xme64-24.exe, wvermgr.exe, wmiprvse.exe, winlg.exe, winlg.exe, windir.exe, win1ogins.exe, watchdog.exe, vivatmp.exe, viva.exe, videodrv.exe, tunecontrol.exe, tiser.exe, tc.exe, taskxmr.exe, systems.exe, systemhoster.exe, systemNT.exe, svowxkb.exe, srvany.exe, spoolsv.exe, skypeUpdateEx.exe, setcpuaff.exe, searchgo.exe, scinfo.exe, schtasks.exe, rthdcpl.exe, resellertrona.exe, qctrl.exe, pexplorer.exe, npsvc.exe, msiexec64.exe, msiexec.exe, mel5s.exe, je.exe, ingloca.exe, hostsys.exe, guard.exe, footer.png.exe, ethDcrMiner64.exe, dether.exe, deftesrg.exe, debug.exe, ddfsf.exe, conhost.exe, cn3.exe, ccminer-x64.exe, carbon.exe, auto-upgrade.exe, Xmnvidia.exe, Wibgotv.exe, VideoCardUpdater.exe, TrustedInstaller.exe, TablacusApp.exe, SystemTaskinfo.exe, Sppsvc.exe, Snsdgchsvc.exe, SetupQQ.exe, ServicesHost.exe, Server.exe, Seaidmwsvc.exe, Runboosterservice64.exe, Proxycheck.exe, Pluslax.exe, Open.exe, NVDisplayContainer.exe, MaskitService.exe, MLFOB4NCY.exe, LoaderBot.exe, LMS.exe, Img001.exe, HostStore.exe, Desktopcleanerservice, DahiService.exe, Csrss.exe, CltMngSvc.exe, Cheat.exe, CPUutility.exe, Aticonto.exe, Appmallosayov.exe.
Dubious CPU miners can be spotted only by either using a reputable anti-malware application or checking your running processes for any entries that consume a significant amount of CPU resources without being used.
